This week’s manicure is Nan from Julep. I got this polish as an add-on with my June Maven Box. Nan is a gorgeous Nantucket Red Creme. This polish applied like a dream and I only needed one coat! It also … Continue reading
I went back and forth for days trying to decide on which box to choose this month. At one point I was settled on ordering the complete collection but at the last minute I decided to go with the Modern … Continue reading
Wantable is a subscription service that offers a makeup box and a jewelry box. The monthly recurring subscription is $36 and a one-time box is $40. I have been reading good things about Wantable so I decided to treat myself … Continue reading
I used a 50% off coupon to order these from the Julep website a few weeks ago. Annie is from the Trina Turk Fall ’12 collection and it is described as an electric blue topaz crème. This polish has the best formula of all of the Julep polishes that I have used so far. It was easy to apply and I probably could have gotten away with just one coat but I ended up using two. Jane is a full-coverage rose gold multi-dimensional glitter. It was a little chunky but in my experience most glitters are. My boyfriend doesn’t like the combination of these two colors but I think it is fun and I really wanted to try both of them.
I guess it wasn’t a complete disaster but I am really hating the way this manicure turned out and I will probably be taking it off tonight. I just thought I’d share my thoughts on the Zoya polish (Jacqueline) that … Continue reading
I recently discovered the Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows and I have become slightly obsessed. My eyelids can get somewhat oily so regular eyeshadow never really lasts all day. For the most part these eyeshadows do not budge and they look … Continue reading
I was at Ulta last weekend and I decided I would give these glosses a try after seeing them on a few blogs and YouTube videos. I am fairly new to the NYX brand so I had fun picking these out. I ended up deciding on the Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Beige and the Butter Gloss in Strawberry Parfait.
Mega Shine Lip Gloss: Beige
The name of this color is deceiving. In my opinion it is not beige at all but a nice soft pink. I really like the way this gloss applied and the way it felt on my lips. It is very moisturizing and smooth. I also really like that it smells like cherries! I will most likely purchase more colors in the future.
Butter Gloss: Strawberry Parfait
I recently discovered that any lip product that has strawberry in its name or color description is probably the perfect product for me. I love this shade of pink because it complements my skin tone and it is fun to wear everyday. This gloss far exceeded my expectations. It is amazingly buttery and smooth on my lips and the color payoff is great! I especially like the scent of this gloss, it is buttery and sweet but not overwhelming. The color of this gloss reminds me of my favorite gloss that I wrote a post about not too long ago. You can check out my Chihuahua Bite post here to read about how much I love the Too Faced Glamour Glosses. The feel and look of this gloss is different than the Too Faced one but I think the colors are similar. I will definitely purchase more of these awesome NYX Butter Glosses ASAP!
Overall, I liked the Butter Gloss more than the Mega Shine. Both are great products but I liked the feel of the Butter Gloss more.
What do you think of these glosses? Any color recommendations?
I have a weakness for lip products so naturally I had to jump on the Maybelline Baby Lips bandwagon. I picked up three colors a few months ago: Cherry Me, Grape Vine, and Pink Punch. I mostly keep these in … Continue reading
